Welcome to That's Vulgar.

We are a lifestyle brand that pushes boundaries and creates unusual décor. We're all about being different, standing out from the "norm," and embracing duality in design.

That's Vulgar was created by me, Demi Guirard, in 2022. But the journey started much earlier. Before launching the brand, I was deeply immersed in my family’s construction business. I spent years as a factory girl—melting aluminum, making parts, and running CNC machinery. Every day, I looked like I’d just cleaned a chimney. As rewarding as it was working with my family, I felt like I needed a change, something that could be just mine.

That’s when I came up with the name "That's Vulgar." I loved the way it represented a style that challenges the everyday "norm." It’s a play on Darkness and Light, Yin and Yang—two forces that speak to the duality within me. As a Gemini, I’ve always felt like I have two sides, and this comes out in everything I do—my clothes, my home décor, my attitude. I wanted this balance to be reflected in a brand for people like me, those who wake up one day ready to throw on New Rock boots, paint their nails black, and head out, but the next day, they’re in a girly dress, with natural nails and flip-flops.

Before the brand, I started as an Etsy seller, creating and selling prints of film covers and original designs. It gave me the confidence to expand and launch my own online store—a space where I could create anything I wanted. With a BA in Fashion Design and a love for pottery, art, and design, I knew I needed a place for my creativity to run wild.

At That’s Vulgar, we’re all about exploring the edge of modern Gothic and Grunge aesthetics and bringing them into home décor. We want to redefine what unconventional décor means. Humans have so many layers to them, and we aim to cover a range of styles—from Grunge to Gothic, Modern to Hippy. Our brand embodies a lifestyle for individuals who appreciate duality in their tastes.

Currently, I design all the posters myself, but we have big plans. While some items are carefully sourced, our goal is to have an in-house design team crafting everything ourselves.
